Connor groaned and peeled his sweat soaked shirt over his head. He tossed the shirt over the back of a chair so it could dry and he turned toward the stairs.

He could hear Ellie cooing to Rebekah on his way up. He could not help but grin at the sound. He peeked around the door frame to their bedroom to see Ellie going through her letters. She was holding Rebekah against her hip. Rebekah saw Connor and gave him a big, toothless grin.

Connor still did not think there was anything more perfect than his daughter's smile.

Ellie turned and smiled at him before turning back to the letters. "Connor? Can you watch Rebekah for a bit while I take care of these and run some errands. You are done with the wood aren't you?"

Connor walked over and took Rebekah from Ellie as an answer. "Go, the last bit of wood can wait," he said, perching Rebekah on his own hip.

Ellie grinned and gave him a quick peck on the lips. She turned and blew a kiss at Rebekah before walking out the door.

Connor looked down at Rebekah. She met his gaze with another big smile. "What are we going to do now that your Ista is gone?" he asked aloud.

Rebekah reached for his hair and pulled a few locks toward her mouth.

Connor made his way down to the kitchen. His eyes widened in surprise when he saw unfinished dough sitting on the big table in the middle. It seemed that Ellie was in the middle of baking when either Rebekah or the letters from her contacts called her attention.

Connor recognized the dough. Ellie used it for her biscuits. Connor had watched her make them multiple times. He looked at Rebekah and decided to put the thought that he could not cook aside. Ellie had been constantly busy with her contacts and Rebekah lately, he decided he could help her at least a little.

He knew that the next step was to roll the dough into balls and flatten them out on a large pan Ellie used in the stove. He set Rebekah down on the table and pulled the bowl and tin of flour toward him. He covered his hands in flour and got to work. Rebekah watched in curiosity as he struggled with the first biscuits. He set them to the side, deciding to find the pan later and kept working. He did a double take when Rebekah reached out and grabbed some dough.

Ellie had let her eat some cooked and smashed vegetables. He was not sure if it was time for dough yet. Connor occasionally reached over and kept Rebekah from eating the dough.

He was halfway through and he looked down at himself. He somehow had gotten flour everywhere during his struggle with the dough. Rebekah had flour all over her legs and arms from crawling toward him once.

Connor glanced at her, seeing that she was looking away and bringing some dough to her mouth.

He decided to distract her a different way. "Bekah...where's Raké:ni?"

She whipped her head around and gave him another huge smile, waving her arms. Some dough splattered on the table with the action.

He chuckled. "You found him," he laughed. He reached over and set her in his lap, looking at the mess they made. He grabbed the dough out of her hands and set it on the table away from the rest of it.

"Your mother is going to be furious."

He took Rebekah's giggle as a sound of agreement.

*******

Okay, I found the reference pictures a month ago and I FINALLY finished it. This was inspired by my brother and my niece. I almost die from the adorableness when I see how he acts around her. And my brother is 6' 3" inches of BIG. So all I can imagine is Connor and Rebekah when I think about them.

And don't ask why I drew him shirtless. I draw him shirtless whenever I can.

Connor belongs to Ubisoft and Rebekah and Ellie belong to me.
