You laughed as the wind danced through your hair and carried the music around you. That just made Smith blow on his flute harder. You giggled as Arnolds kicked him and yelled, "Oi! Stay on tune you curr!"

You smiled and turned toward the rest of the crew. You had been married to Arthur for a few months now, and you were enjoying the sailor's life, to tell the truth. You watched as Kent and many others of the crew kept up to the tune of Smith's flute, Arnolds' fiddle, and Salem's drum. You clapped along with the beat and you laughed as one of the men fell. You suddenly felt a little hand grab your arm and you were pulled into it. You looked down to see a beaming and laughing Alfred.

"Let's go Gun Lady!" he crowed.

You laughed and let him guide you through the jig. You bent down so Alfred could spin you around. The rest of the crew created a circle around you and Alfred by now, clapping along with the beat and laughing. Suddenly, a big, calloused hand grabbed the hand Alfred wasn't holding and it pulled you to him. You looked up to see the green eyes you love.

"Mind if I cut in?" Arthur purred.

You giggled and thumped him on the chest before he started to guide you through the dance. You beamed as he twirled you around to the beat. You finally just closed your eyes and just let him lead. The beat got faster and faster. You opened your eyes when Arthur started to pick up the pace as well. You saw the challenging glint in his eye. You smirked and twirled away from him. The crew howled in laughter as you threw your coat off and said, "Challenge accepted, Captain."

The crew knew that you called him that to make fun of him now, though they didn't dare try it.

"Get 'er Capt'n!"

"Yeah! Show 'er how a true dog dances!"

"Whoo!"

Arthur chuckled and looked at the men playing the instruments for a second. He made a gesture with his hand and he looked toward you with a smirk. "Don't let him win Gun Lady!" Alfred yelled from the sidelines.

Arthur stalked forward as the tempo of the music slowed down. You gulped as he wrapped an arm around your waist and grabbed your hand with the other. You gawked. The bloody man was waltzing with you! On his Privateer ship no less!

"What's wrong Poppet?" he asked as he led you through the dance.

He paused and said, "Never waltzed before?"

You frowned at him. He chuckled and said, "Looks like I have to teach you."

You couldn't frown for long. The tune finally ended and Arthur ended the dance with a kiss. The crew whooped and hollered and you felt your face heat up in embarrassment. Arthur wasn't scared to show you were his, and sometimes it was just downright embarrassing. Arthur chuckled and looked at the 'band'.

"Let's go you dogs! Tonight's a night of Celebration! Remember?!"

You smiled when you thought about what you were celebrating, Alfred's birthday.

Arthur gently led you from the middle of the deck and you leaned against him as you watched Alfred challenge Kent to a jig contest. Arthur pecked the top of your head and said, "Poppet, I can die happy right now."

You looked up at him with a frown. "You better not die! I'll pray and make sure God makes you miserable!"

He looked at you in surprise and he started to laugh. "You're never going to stop keeping me on my toes, are you Poppet?"

You grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him down to your level. "Never."

Arthur smiled before he pulled you into a deep kiss.

The truth was, you could die happy too, but you weren't going to tell him that.
Requested by the amazing and glorious :iconlolcatsarelol:

She wanted a Pirate!Iggy or an APL oneshot.

I had a head canon with APL so I decided to go with the second choice. I wanted to put something like this in A Pirate's Life SOOOOOO bad, but it wouldn't have fit with the story.

So, here's a oneshot :iconmeifiscaxx:

Enjoy!

Very cute, but one quick historical note: the waltz didn't exist at this point. At least, not as far as polite upper-crust society was concerned. It got its start as a germanic/Austrian peasant folk dance. [link]

For something more likely to have been in actual use, I'd look here: [link]
